Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026

At TabSwitch, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our application and website.

Local Processing

TabSwitch is designed with privacy at its core. All searching and switching happens entirely on your device. Your tab titles, window titles, browsing data, and application data are never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third-party platform. We cannot access, view, or store this data — because it never leaves your computer.

macOS Permissions

TabSwitch requests the following permissions solely to provide its features locally:

  • Accessibility — to read window titles and bring the selected window to the front.
  • Automation (Apple Events) — to query and activate tabs in supported browsers and terminals (Google Chrome, Safari, Ghostty, Terminal).

Data accessed through these permissions is processed in memory on your Mac and is never transmitted elsewhere.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your tab titles, URLs, or browsing history.
  • We do not track your searches or switching behavior.
  • We do not require user accounts or registration.
  • We do not use analytics or tracking cookies.

Automatic Updates

TabSwitch uses the Sparkle framework to check for and deliver updates. Update checks contact our server to retrieve the latest version information and release notes; no personal data is sent during this process.

Website Usage

When you visit our website (tabswitch.app), we may collect standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and access time) for security and performance purposes only. This data is not used to identify individual users and is not shared with third parties.

Third-Party Services

Our website uses Google Fonts for typography. Font requests are made directly to Google servers and may be subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
